How we
make money.

Quick answer

Can't Get Cover is free to use and earns money one way: a commission paid by FCA-regulated partners when a visitor we introduce buys a policy. Today that means GoShorty, our live partner for temporary car insurance; a second partnership covering annual insurance through a 130+ insurer panel is signed and awaiting activation. The price you pay through our links is identical to going to the partner directly — the commission comes out of the partner's marketing budget, not added to your premium. No insurer pays us to be recommended, our matching tool ranks by fit for your situation rather than by commission rate, and we hold no insurance permissions ourselves: we are an introducer, not a broker or adviser, and the regulated partner handles every quote and sale. If we would not send a family member through a link, it does not go on the site.

Total transparency. Who pays us, how much, and why it doesn't change what we recommend.

The short version

Can't Get Cover is free to use. We earn money when you buy a policy through one of our regulated insurance partners. They pay us a small commission for introducing you to them.

This never affects the price you pay. The commission comes out of the insurer's or broker's marketing budget — it's not added to your premium.

And critically: it never affects which partner we recommend. Our matching tool is based on which insurer panel is most likely to quote your real situation fairly — not which one pays us the most.

Our partners (and what they pay us)

GoShorty — Temporary car insurance

For short-term cover (1 hour to 28 days), we introduce customers to GoShorty, an FCA-authorised UK provider rated Excellent on Trustpilot.

GoShorty is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN: 803587). You can verify them on the FCA Register.

Quotezone (Seopa Ltd) — Annual car insurance comparison (coming soon)

For annual cover, we are in the process of becoming an Introducer Appointed Representative of Seopa Ltd (trading as Quotezone), an FCA-authorised comparison engine that panels 130+ UK insurers.

This service is not yet live on our site. We will update this page and the relevant FCA disclosures the moment it goes live.

What we will never do

How our matching tool works

The six-question tool on our homepage and category pages doesn't compare prices or quote individual policies. It maps your situation to the type of insurer panel most likely to quote you fairly:

When you click "Get my quotes" you'll be routed to our regulated quote partner who panels insurers in all these categories. You'll see actual prices from actual insurers. We earn our commission only if you choose to buy.

Why we built it this way

Most UK insurance comparison sites are owned by big advertising operations. Some have commercial relationships you'd be surprised to learn about. The FCA introduced new "Consumer Duty" rules in 2023 partly because too many sites were hiding commercial influence behind helpful-looking interfaces.

We chose the opposite path. We tell you exactly what we earn, exactly which partners we work with, and exactly how the matching works. Then we let you decide. That's the model.

Six honest questions. We'll route you to the specialist panel most likely to fit your situation — not the comparison-site filter that just said no.
